Post-Superbowl and what's next?

Well, congratulations Packers! It was a pretty good game although I must say that there has never been an uglier colored game. You will not see me wearing those particular shades of yellow and green any time soon. And did you notice the absence of cheerleaders?? This was the only Super Bowl in the game's 45-year history without them. Apparently, not all NFL teams employ a squad...did you know that? Me neither. In fact, a total of six teams do not have cheerleaders--

Green Bay Packers
Pittsburgh Steelers
Chicago Bears
Cleveland Browns
New York Giants
Detroit Lions

I wonder if it's because these towns are all located in the freezing cold for most of football season? Maybe...but I did a little research and found another answer:

"The Packers did away with their cheerleaders in 1988 after market research indicated fans did not really care, and in 1970 it was an "organizational decision" to dissolve the Steelerettes."
So there you have it.

In other blog news, usually at this time of year I sign off until August. This time I'd love to keep it going. It will chronicle my experiences of continuing to try and learn about "all things male" and my journey to get Chick 101 into it's next phase, whatever that may be.

Stay tuned!

Until next time,
Molly
